The Mont d'Herquelingue is quite a difficult climb. Right in the streets of Saint-Léonard the climb starts, with a very steep part. After the buildings the climb goes downhill for a while. The trail passes right under the viaduct of Echinghen, which hovers at this spot high above the valley. As the climb is very easy at this point you can easily enjoy the view. However, the climb has a final climb. When you enter the forest it is really time to stand on the pedals to overcome the last 200 meters.

A small mention worth, in 2012 was this climb in the full final of the Tour de France won by Sagan.
