Mont Chesau is directly adjacent to the west side of Mont Pèlerin and is well worth a diversion, even if it is a little less spectacular. I would recommend crossing the motorway at Chexbres (accessible, for example, via the Corniche, which is extraordinary). The climb in the strict sense begins when you cross the Corbéron. Initially it's not too complicated but the second part becomes more difficult as the gradient remains at least 12-13% with even steeper ramps added on. The last part is easy and there is a refreshment bar at the top which is very nice for a quick coffee. The tarmac is pretty good without too many potholes. The view of the lake from the top is excellent.
Tough little climb, very punchy with just enough incline between ramps to stop you catching your breath. First very steep section felt even a little harder than the final one, but they both show here as 17/18%. Rewarding view from the top, excellent roadside cows, cute restaurant, really all you can ask for in a little climb. Also pairs nicely with the Cote de Bellvue if you're starting from Lac Leman.
If you want to test your calf strength, go for it!
Alpine restaurant at the summit (open in summer).
To be combined with a nice hike in the region.
