Climb starts up a very minor road. The road surface is awful with very little tarmac remaining in places. Unfortunately this is also the steepest part of the climb. Good views but although the tarmac generally improves there are more patches of gravel. The three other ways to reach the summit of the Horseshoe Pass are far superior. This climb is only worth doing if you've done the other climbs to the top so many times you want to try something different (which was why I did it).
