The B51 from the Moselle is very busy. As soon as you turn into the Römerstraße, the traffic becomes lighter. The Roman road is not very steep at the start and is well tarmaced. It becomes very narrow in the following section, with walls on both sides. Here it becomes difficult (if not impossible) to let cars pass. You then turn left onto Jüngt, where the road surface deteriorates considerably. On the left is the Robert Schuman House, which is well worth a visit. The Jüngt climbs moderately ... read more

You then turn left onto Jüngt, where the road surface deteriorates considerably. On the left is the Robert Schuman House, which is well worth a visit. The Jüngt climbs moderately at first, but then becomes steeper. A small flight of steps leads up to the Marian column on the left. From there, the view over Trier is excellent. All in all, not a really nice ascent due to the sometimes poor and narrow road conditions and the traffic in the lower section, but the view from the top is worth it.

During a holiday in I had to do this one up of course. After following the many umleitungen I finally found it. The road to the top is not the prettiest but the percentages make it challenging.

Unfortunately, I could not get a closer look at the statue of Mary which is nearby. The road surface could use an update, by the way
