The first part of this climb runs from the Moselle on an excellent (and quite quiet) link road where you go straight ahead at the roundabout. A little further on you turn diagonally right into a small road where the percentages go up. At the crossroads further on, you have the last chance to turn off on asphalt because at the climb itself the asphalt - at the end of the climb - eventually comes to a dead end although there are numerous good gravel roads to continue the route although the descent on the same route is not a punishment either as the road winds nicely up through the vineyards to the edge of the forest and offers nice views. The tarmac remains reasonable and the gradient is really tough on the last part but by then you're almost there.
