On the main road it goes up quite a bit, but if you turn right at a right-angled bend (sign "Lourdesgrotte") you come to a standstill almost immediately because the slope immediately starts to rise steeply. A little further on you get some air but then it rises steeply again until the Y-junction where the asphalt ends (before the Lourdes Grotto, you have to follow the gravel road to the right for a short distance). So turn around (it's flat at the top so that's easy) and when descending - with beautiful views - you notice how steep it is. The old "Wheelers dismount" sign is not really needed anymore with today's brakes but it does give an indication. There were some leaves on the road now but underneath is fine tarmac. Lovely little calf bite to take if you're in the area.
