5.0 by MahonisGreat climb with stunning views at the top. Remember to ride past the summit on the remaining paved section of road! You’ll get some pretty amazing views!! The climb is quite difficult with several sections well above the advertised 13% (might be for less than 100m, but when you’re there, it sure feels long). The road surface is in great condition, and even on ascension day, which is supposed to be a very busy day in the mountains, there was very little traffic (I did it in the afternoon,... read more

Beautiful and gentle climb. Very steep sections with percentages up to 15%. At the end towards Lombachalp you are glad it flattens out a bit as the kilometres prior give little opportunity to recover. After Habkern it is almost continuously steep with percentages not going below 10%. In short: very good training! The views and tranquillity pay off!
Kortom: zeer goede training! Het uitzicht en de rust lonen!

The road surface is in great condition, and even on ascension day, which is supposed to be a very busy day in the mountains, there was very little traffic (I did it in the afternoon, so most of the cars were going down the mountain, which I prefer, as I can see them coming further up the road).
In early may, there was still snow on the sides of the road in the plateau behind the summit, which kinda made me feel like I was riding the Giro (in the gruppetto of course).
