The Llanos de las Animas is undoubtedly one of the toughest climbs in Europe with almost 16 km and an average gradient of more than 12% this killer is a monster that also has a summit just above 2000 metres. The last 3 km are unseen tough and run on a very narrow concrete road that actually consists of wrinkled concrete surfaces that rise to almost 30% at times. At the top, however, you are rewarded with stunning views. Whoever gets up here without dismounting may tip their hat.
