A handy way to get into the Eifel from the centre of Aachen, this climb is a nice warm-up because it's a great runner to bang against in the direction of the traffic lights that mark the summit (you can bypass these when they are red, by the way, by cycling on the pavement - permitted - for a while). And then the climb is also preceded by another climb (there's no escaping that) and a bit further on, another one immediately follows before you reach the Eifel at all. An excellent approach route, then.
Een handige uitvalsweg om vanuit het centrum van Aachen de Eifel in te gaan en dan is dit klimmetje een lekkere opwarmer want het is een prima loper om even tegen aan te knallen richting de verkeerslichten die de eigenlijke top markeren (deze kun je overigens bij rood omzeilen door even op de stoep - toegestaan - te fietsen) want het stukje daarna gaat nog maar heel licht omhoog. En dan is de klim ook nog voorafgegaan door een andere klim (daar ontkom je niet aan) en iets verderop volgt er meteen nog één nog voordat je überhaupt in de Eifel bent. Een uitstekende aanrijdroute dus.
