Een handige uitvalsweg om vanuit het centrum van Aachen de Eifel in te gaan en dan is dit klimmetje een lekkere opwarmer want het is een prima loper om even tegen aan te knallen richting de verkeerslichten die de eigenlijke top markeren (deze kun je overigens bij rood omzeilen door even op de stoep - toegestaan - te fietsen) want het stukje daarna gaat nog maar heel licht omhoog. En dan is de klim ook nog voorafgegaan door een andere klim (daar ontkom je niet aan) en iets verderop volgt er meteen nog één nog voordat je überhaupt in de Eifel bent. Een uitstekende aanrijdroute dus.
