One of those famous cols that you really shouldn't do. They drive so fast and so close to you that it even feels dangerous to drive up on the protruding tarmac, and make no mistake, it is not there for you. This is now the second time I have climbed it and again we were almost run off the road by some sports cars and their incompetent drivers who seemed to be looking more at the dashboard than at the road. Avoid an accident and take the climb on the left (Mont Lecresse via Château de Gomzé) if you really have to go up.
Zo een van de bekende cols die je echt niet moet doen. Ze rijden hier zo hard en rakelings langs je door dat het zelfs gevaarlijk voelt om op het uitstekende asfalt omhoog te rijden, én vergis u niet, dat ligt er niet voor u. Dit is nu de tweede keer dat ik hem beklim en ook nu werden bijna van de baan gereden door enkele sportwagens en hun incompetente bestuurders die meer op de teller op het dashboard leken te kijken dan op de baan. Vermijdt een ongeval en neem de klim links (Mont Lecresse via Château de Gomzé) als je echt omhoog moet.
Did not know he is / was in L-B-L, came coincidentally on my route and that I have known. Tight climb, but extremely busy. Also once ridden down, those curves are crazy.
Wist niet dat ie in L-B-L zit/heeft gezeten, kwam toevallig op m'n route en dat heb ik dan weer wel geweten. Strakke klim, maar ontzettend druk. Ook een keer naar beneden gereden, die bochten zijn wel leip.
Les Forges is actually a classic of Liège-Bastogne-Liège, which returns this year. For decades, this slope was the last of the course, after the famous Redoute.
