A kind of mini Allos. Really nice and beautiful. Only on the way back do you really see the beauty.
5 hairpins and a few points of careful descending because of cars around the corner. By contrast, 9 o'clock in the morning, 1 car seen there and back. No one else at all! Nature at its best

5 haarspeldjes en paar punten goed opletten met afdalen ivm autos om de hoek. Daarentegen, 9 uur sochtends gereden, 1 auto gezien heen en terug. Verder helemaal niemand! Nature at its best
Very pretty. Tiny road that winds and climbs gently between small rocks. Very good surfacing. Few cars. At the top, a closed chapel and a village with many abandoned houses. A very pleasant little climb.
Très mignon. Route minuscule qui serpente et monte doucement entre les petits rochers. Revêtement très bon. Peu de voitures. En haut, une chapelle fermée et un village dont beaucoup de maisons sont abandonnées. Une petite ascension très sympathique. Et bien entendu, il faut aller jusqu’au village ! Ah, j’ajoute : vraiment attention dans la descente. Certains virages serrés et la route est si étroite qu’il est risqué de prendre de la vitesse.
Are you near Castellane? Then definitely 'catch' this one. I rode it in wind force 3-4 and in the middle of the day in Aug and even then it was fine. Nice warm-up for more nearby on other days. Quiet, serene, pure nature, beautiful views. Be careful when descending; there are bends where 1 bicycle and 1 oncoming car only just fit.
Ben je in de buurt van Castellane? Dan deze zeker even ‘meepakken’. Ik reed em bij windkracht 3-4 en midden op de dag in Aug en zelfs dan prima te doen. Mooie opwarmer voor meer in de buurt op andere dagen. Stil, sereen, puur natuur, schitterende uitzichten. Wel even voorzichtig aan bij t afdalen; er zijn bochten waarbij 1 fiets en 1 tegemoetkomende auto maar net passen.
Idyllic climb from Castellane through the valley/canyon of the Rayaup. A gentle climb on fairly good tarmac. Don't do anything crazy, just enjoy the scenery. Stop here and there.... take a photo, and move on.
Idyllische klim vanuit Castellane door de vallei/canyon van de Rayaup. Een rustige klim op vrij goed asfalt. Geen gekke dingen doen, maar genieten van de omgeving. Hier en daar eens stoppen.... fotootje maken, en weer verder.

Nice route from Castellane. Started early because of the heat. Various route; chamois and squirrels seen. Through Robion some moderate asphalt but still doable on the road bike.
Leuke route vanuit Castellane. Vroeg begonnen ivm de warmte. Diverse route; gems en eekhoorns gezien. Door Robion wat matig asfalt maar nog steeds te doen op de racefiets.
Indeed a hidden gem. Quiet and narrow track winding along the river and through the woods. Some hairpins too. Almost at the top you have to take some bad tarmac to gîte Le Petit Robion, and not continue to the village straight ahead. That last piece is vicious.
Inderdaad een verborgen pareltje. Rustige en smalle baan die kronkelt langs de rivier en door de bossen. Paar haarspelden ook. Bijna boven moet je wat slecht asfalt naar gîte Le Petit Robion nemen, en niet doorrijden naar het dorpje rechtdoor. Dat laatste stukje is nog venijnig.
