Not only is it much steeper in the second half, the tarmac is also not as good and is filled with cow droppings. The dam and the lake at the top is nothing special, but the surroundings on the way there are beautiful. I will recommend to climb the nearby Passo Scimfuss too, as this short climb offers breathtaking views of the Leventina Valley and the surrounding mountains.
