A nice little climb if you’ve still got the energy left after the Tremola. The second section is a bit steep but it’s very short, so no worries. Tarmac all the way (in good but not perfect condition: take care on the descent).

Once past the turn towards Passo Scimfuss it gets pretty steep. Worth it to get to more remote and therefore quieter area above Gotthard pass itself. There are walkers and a very rare car. Good to combine with Scimfuss so you have explored all the roads. The water itself is pretty but you cant really sit at the side- its too steep. For the peace - its great.
The first part is only a challenge if you, like me, have climbed the Gotthard Pass right before. The second part is much more of a challenge, even with fresh legs. Not only is it much steeper in the second half, the tarmac is also not as good and is filled with cow droppings.
The dam and the lake at the top is nothing special, but the surroundings on the way there are beautiful.
I will recommend to climb the nearby Passo Scimfuss too, as this short climb offers breathtaking views of the Leventina Valley and the surrounding mountains.
