Easy ascent apart from the length of the pass.
Most of the climb is in the shade, and the first part is pleasant but not overpowering. The 2nd part is much more visually pleasing, with views of the Monts d'Ardèche and a few balcony sections and hairpin bends.
There are no signs to indicate the gradient and the remaining distance, so you don't really know when you've reached the top.
I would advise you to make a return trip near the pass to the Mont Gerbier and come back down via the Mezilhac road, which is great.
Serious Ardeche climb. Nowhere really super tough but long until Lachamp-Raphael (the highest village in the Ardeche at 1332M altitude!). I came from Aubenas. Descending via Mezilhac is fantastic!
Serieuze Ardeche klim. Afdalen via Mezilhac is fantastisch!
Beautiful climb. Actually a very long runner. The first 8 km you can pass reasonably well. But because of its length, the climb gets into your legs. At the top it is first up and down before you can start thinking about a descent. After taking the last right turn with about 8 kilometres to go, you enter a beautiful forest area where you won't find a living soul. Wonderful!
Prachtige klim. Prachtig!
