Aardig klimmetje tussen een woonwijk en een bos, maar niet meer dan dat. De route wordt veel door wielrenners gebruikt omdat je zo net buiten Groesbeek om kan als je richting Molenhoek/Malden wilt en het traject vanuit Breedeweg ook mooi is (andersom kan je hem natuurlijk ook fietsen). Redelijk tot goed asfalt.

In the 100+ distances of the Ronde van Nijmegen this is one of the last climbs. Because you've been on the saddle for a while and you've already tackled a dozen vicious hills, this one feels a lot harder than during a shorter ride.
The whole Knapheideweg is from the junction with the Sint Antoniusweg a mini-Zevenheuvelenweg: it undulates up and down where in the descent you can develop speed for the following climb. Also from north to south a fine connecting road towards the Reichswald, the Kartenspielerweg, Boscafe Merlijn or the Grafwegener Strasse from Grafwegen to Kranenburg (beautiful undulating German road with the Reichswald on one side and views on the hills around Groesbeek on the other side).
Deze lijkt weinig voor te stellen en er is ook geen bijzonder uitzicht. Het is wel een van de rustigere wegen om terug Groesbeek in te komen vanuit het zuiden. Bij de 100+ afstanden van de Ronde van Nijmegen is dit echter een van de laatste beklimmingen. Omdat je dan al een tijdje op het zadel zit en ook al een dozijn venijnige heuvels hebt gepakt, voelt deze een stuk zwaarder aan dan tijdens een kortere rit.
De hele Knapheideweg is vanaf de kruising met de Sint Antoniusweg een mini-Zevenheuvelenweg: het golft op en neer waarbij je in de afdaling snelheid kan ontwikkelen voor de klim die volgt. Ook van noord naar zuid een prima verbindingsweg richting het Reichswald, de Kartenspielerweg, Boscafe Merlijn of de Grafwegener Strasse van Grafwegen naar Kranenburg (prachtig golvende Duitse weg met het Reichswald aan een kant en uitzicht op de heuvels rondom Groesbeek aan de andere kant).
