Begin van de beklimming is erg mooi, tussen de huizen wat saai. Deze ook eens als afdaling gehad na Les Waides, zeker aan te raden, prachtig uitzicht en die bochten op het laatst zijn dan erg leuk.
A difficult climb to assess. The second part is boring between the houses, partly false flat but also parts which can be considered a climb. The first part however is exceptionally beautiful in terms of meandering road, landscape and views up to the Meuse valley. The approach is only short between houses and then you already see the climb. The part up to the 2 km point would without any problem get 4 or even 5 stars from me, because of the long and boring descent now a star less for the whole climb.
So, option is: After the nice part, two steep straights follow. As soon as it flattens out between the houses turn around (unfortunately there are no side roads) and ride it down again. It is also a wonderful descent (with good road surface) where you can see the road beautifully meandering below you.
Een moeilijk te beoordelen klim. Het tweede deel is saai tussen de huizen door, deels vals plat maar ook deels stukjes die je wel als "klim" mag beschouwen. Het stuk daarvoor is echter buitengewoon fraai qua slingerende weg, landschap en uitzicht tot aan het Maasdal toe. De aanloop hierheen is maar kort tussen de huizen en dan zie je de klim al liggen. Het gedeelte tot het 2 km-punt zou zonder problemen van mij 4 of zelfs 5 sterren krijgen, vanwege de lange en saaie uitloopt nu toch een ster minder voor de hele klim.
Optie is dus: Na het mooie gedeelte volgen nog twee steile rechte stukken. Zodra het afvlakt tussen de huizen omdraaien (er zijn helaas geen zijwegen) en het stuk weer naar beneden rijden. Het is namelijk ook een heerlijke afdaling (met goed wegdek) waarbij je de weg fraai onder je ziet slingeren.
Never a difficult climb, but with an annoying long stretch of false flat after it. The climb is still scenically beautiful, but that is soon over and the false flat goes largely through the (not very pretty) village.
Beklimming die nergens moeilijk wordt, maar wel met een vervelend lang stuk vals plat erna. De klim is landschappelijk nog wel mooi, maar dat is snel afgelopen en het vals plat gaat dan grotendeels door het (niet heel fraaie) dorp.
Very nice climb! A small steep part, but for the rest you can make good pace. Having the wind against you on the spur can be a setback...
Hele leuke klim! Een klein stijl stukje, maar voor de rest kan je hier goed tempo maken. Op de uitloper wind tegen hebben kan wel een tegenvaller zijn...
Top warming up climb if you're cycling towards Herve / Chaudfontaine for the heavier mountains. Road surface is not great, but the slow ascend and the length of the climb make sure you gain a lot of altimeters.
Top opwarm klimmetje als je richting Herve / Chaudfontaine fietst voor de zwaardere bergen. Wegdek is niet top, maar de langzame stijging en lengte zorgt er toch voor dat je flink wat hoogtemeters pakt.
