The Gotthard begins for one kilometre on a wide but very busy road. This is not the best part. Right at the top, you turn right onto Via Arcisi and the most beautiful part begins. At the beginning, this beautiful road with very few cars gives you a hard time, then the gradient decreases and, advancing a little by jumps in the middle of a low forest that does not prevent you from enjoying a beautiful panorama, you finally arrive at the pretty village of San Gottardo. Welcomed by a beautiful work by local sculptors (a wall bordering the road embellished with very beautiful high reliefs), we cross the village until we reach the church, at which the climb ends.
One star less only for that initial kilometre among the cars. Otherwise a really nice climb. Good asphalt, slopes that are never severe, good visibility and little traffic make the descent exciting.
