Famous climb in the region, with exceptional views at the summit. Lots of traffic at weekends, but with one road up and another down.

Hello climbers, very nice cool climb through the forest, it climbs for sure and the finish with a breathtaking view of the Lake Geneva basin. The state of the road is remarkable, with 80% one-way traffic, so be careful on the descent.

Magnificent climb. Alternating parts from 5% to 11% but mostly around 7% to 8%.
A typical Jura climb with lots of forest in the first 8-9KM and then some open meadows with cows (in summer), and a final tough final kilometre.
The view is beautiful on a clear day. Just below the summit there is also a small restaurant with great fondue (please make a reservation) to replenish the calories :-)
Most of the descent is one-way, but watch out for hikers and animals.
Enjoy!

Prachtige klim.
Enjoy!

Very cool climb through the forest. I did it in the morning, when I didn't see any cars. Certainly a reward if you arrive after a tough climb with steep sections at the top with beautiful views of the lake. Descent also recommended

I agree with Jesse's description, with the addition that the view from the top is breathtakingly beautiful (if the weather is clear 😊).

Made on a long trip from Saint-Claude (FR): Nice climb around Lake Geneva. Quiet, narrow road with good tarmac up through the forest, with a partial separation of climb and descent. The climb starts easy, but from kilometer 3 to 6 it gets hard: average 9-10% with in between peaks towards 15/16% (according to my Garmin). Be careful not to blow up your legs there. The next part is more manageable, but soon the climb becomes more irregular: 5% and 12% parts. Kilometres below the summit it becomes more even, but the percentage increases (as does the number of flies). So plan it well, but then the climb is doable! The view on the summit more than makes up for the suffering: on a clear day full view over the Lake of Genevè and Mont Blanc. Recommended if you are on this side of the lake. Other lesser known options are: Col de Combe Blanche and La Baudichonne.
