The climb starts gently in the village of Jannée, right up to the left-hand crossroads where the downhill road becomes very narrow for about fifty metres and ends up in a tunnel; beware of the road if it is wet. Then the serious stuff starts, the gradients gradually increase without becoming too steep and the corner is sheltered as the climb passes through a beautiful wood. Superb in autumn, by the way. It's a steady climb up to a 200m or so false flat and the star finishes with a short bump. Big downside for the surface.
