Nice rolling agricultural road from Maastricht to Berg. Just before the end, a steep uphill section of about'n 7-8％. In headwinds, the climb can be disappointing.

Fun and not too difficult climb from the cycle path on the outskirts of Maastricht-Amby to Berg en Terblijt. As soon as you start the climb, you can already see in the distance where you have to go. Then it flattens out towards the built-up area of Berg. If you don't want to cross the busy Rasberg from Maastricht to Berg en Terblijt, this is a very nice alternative.
Leuke en niet te zware klim vanaf het fietspad aan de rand van Maastricht-Amby naar Berg en Terblijt. Zodra je aan de klim begint zie je al in de verte waar je heen moet. Eerste stuk is vals plat. Het middendeel wordt hierna geleidelijk steiler. Tussen de bossages aan beide zijden van de weg ligt het zwaarste stuk. Daarna vlakt het naar de bebouwde kom van Berg af. Wil je niet over de drukke Rasberg van Maastricht naar Berg en Terblijt dan is dit een heel mooi alternatief.
Nice climb, and on a day like today with North East wind for me as a non-trained person, did feel like I was on a climb. I like cycling this one when I don't feel like the Bemelerberg. The wind does have free play on this climb due to its open position between barren fields and a Wheatwolf Reserve to the left.
Mooie klim, en op een dag als vandaag met Noord Oosten wind voor mij als niet doorgetrainde, wel het idee gehad dat ik aan een klim bezig was. Ik fiets deze graag als ik geen zin in de Bemelerberg heb. De wind heeft op deze klim wel vrijspel door zijn open ligging tussen kale akkers en links een Korenwolfreservaat.
If you want to take a break, this is a perfect climb. Gentle gradients in the middle of open fields. Beautiful views of Maastricht and no cars. Moreover, you end up in a rustic village around Berg en Terblijt. Enjoy!
Als je even tot rust wil komen is dit een perfecte beklimming. Rustige stijgingspercentages te midden van open velden. Mooie uitzichten op Maastricht en geen auto’s te bespeuren. Bovendien kom je uit in een rustiek dorpje rond Berg en Terblijt. Genieten!
Not a tough climb, apart from a short section, but a very nice one and certainly preferable to the cycle path along the N590. The first part is false flat but soon you will see the steeper part of the climb in front of you so you have been warned. The road winds nicely up the slope through an agricultural area. Nice view to the rear of Maastricht. At the top, it is a short ride to the built-up area. Good tarmac (a bit coarse). Definitely recommended!
Geen zware beklimming, op een kort stuk na, maar wel een heel leuke en zeker te prefereren boven het fietspad langs de N590. Het eerste deel is vals plat maar je ziet al snel het steilere deel van de klim mooi voor je liggen dus je bent gewaarschuwd. De weg slingert mooi tegen de helling op door agrarisch gebied. Fraai uitzicht naar achteren op Maastricht. Bovenin is het nog even uitfietsen tot de bebouwde kom. Goed asfalt (wel wat grof). Zeker een aanrader!
The last time I came here I thought I had 2 flat tires, that's how high the rolling resistance is on this road. The first part requires no effort, the last few hundred meters bite.
De laatste keer dat ik hier kwam dacht ik dat ik 2 platte banden had, zo hoog is de rolweerstand op deze weg. Het eerste stuk vergt geen moeite, de laatste paar honderd meter bijten wel.

Mooie klim. Pas op dat je niet teveel kruit verschiet in de eerste anderhalve kilometer. Het steilste stukje wacht nog! Met wind uit het westen een heerlijke loper. Met (noord)oostenwind laat ik deze klim links liggen. Prachtig uitzicht!
This road is now included in the final round of the AGR as a descent. It is certainly not a difficult climb. It is nicely rural and therefore a good alternative for the provincial road from Maastricht to Berg en Terblijt. The wind on the climb is quite free, so with headwind, the climb is not fun.
Deze weg is tegenwoordig als afdaling opgenomen in de laatste ronde van de AGR. Het is zeker geen moeilijke beklimming. Wel mooi landelijk gelegen en daardoor een goed alternatief voor de provinciale weg vanuit Maastricht naar Berg en Terblijt. De wind heeft op de beklimming wel redelijk vrij spel, dus met tegenwind is de beklimming geen pretje.
