Dead-end asphalt road (the road turns into a rough gravel road) but a wonderfully challenging climb. The approach from Eupen is beautiful along the river Soor. From the start of the climb, you immediately see the road pop up and you will feel it because it is quite tough. Nice new tarmac until the end of the steep section, just after the hairpin bend. Then a slight descent, a slight slope and in the next bend the percentages increase again, almost to the end. The road surface in the second section is reasonable, and there is some grass in the middle of the road in the flat section (but clean asphalt tracks remain). Very pretty scenery and you don't meet anyone else.
Doodlopend asfaltweggetje (de weg gaat over in een grove gravelweg) maar wel een heerlijk uitdagende klim. De aanrijdroute vanuit Eupen is overigens fraai zo langs het riviertje de Soor. Vanaf het begin van de klim zie je meteen de weg omhoog knallen en dat ga je voelen ook want het is goed pittig. Lekker nieuw asfalt tot het einde van het steile gedeelte, net na de haarspeldbocht. Daarna een lichte afdaling, een lichte helling en in de volgende bocht lopen de percentages weer goed op, vrijwel tot het einde. Het wegdek in het tweede gedeelte is redelijk, en er is in het vlakke stuk wat gras in het midden van de weg (maar er blijven schone asfaltsporen over). Heel fraaie omgeving en je komt verder niemand tegen.
