Not much to it. Good tarmac but busy road. Old Cross Mountain is the better variant

Niet veel aan. Goede asfalt maar drukke weg. De oude kruisberg is de betere variant

The slightly easier variant of the Old Cross Mountain.

This is the hill of the 1988 world championship, the place where Claude Criquielion was pushed into the railings by Steve Bauer and crashed in the final sprint. I was watching it live on TV from my home in Grenoble... A vivid and unfortunate memory.

Apart from that, this climb is not very attractive in itself: not very steep and with a lot of traffic. Fortunately, there are many variants: Fiertelmeers, Groeneweg, Nieuwe Kruisberg (or Oude Kruisberg, depending on your choice)...

Climb from Ronse up through a suburb. Cobblestones are bad and slippery, but there is enough space to choose your path. Not really beautiful, ends on the main road.
