When you are on the saddle between Kröv and Kövenig, you think you are already quite at altitude but then you see this guy coming up. It is a wide road so you do not expect such slopes. Quiet by the way and good tarmac. From the start, the road goes straight up via a right turn, a long straight and a left turn. Then it suddenly flattens out and you can recover on a slightly rising road. That's necessary because almost immediately you see the dessert looming up: an increasingly steeper slope with in the middle part where the upper legs get a beating. The end of the slope (which you have already seen) is also the end of the climb so knowing that there will not be another cave-in you can go for it. No view further but technically very nice. Certainly nice to take along if you are already at the starting point.
