Steep ascending part of the macadam (if you start higher on the Kriesberg you will have another strip of cobblestones) that is relatively good.
Due to the short length of the slope you can digest it very well.
At the top of the slope keep left and you will end up on the Rijksweg where you can continue towards Kraaikant and Nieuwrode.
Nice to do once, but nothing more....
Steil oplopend stuk macadam (indien je hoger op de Kriesberg start heb je nog een strook kasseien) dat relatief goed bolt.
Door de korte lengte van de helling verteer je deze heel goed.
Houd aan de top van de helling links aan, en dan kom je op de Rijksweg terecht alwaar je je weg kan hervatten richting de Kraaikant en Nieuwrode.
Leuk om eens te doen, maar niets meer....
In the beginning there are cobblestones. But they are straight and without cracks. Afterwards it gets a bit steeper, but nothing special. Tip: if you come down from the mountain of Houwaart, don't take the cobblestone road, but the un-cobblestone road. Then you have to turn 180°, and that pull-up hurts. Once you have turned left, it is a bit steep. You come from a bit deeper than when you take the cobblestone road. But also this one is not that difficult.
In het begin liggen er kasseitjes. Maar ze liggen recht en zonder spleten. Nadien wordt het nog eventjes iets steiler, maar niets bijzonders. Tip: als je van de berg van Houwaart komt afgedaald, neem dan niet de kasseiweg, maar de onbekasseide weg. Dan moet je 180° draaien, en dat optrekken doet pijn. Eenmaal je de bocht naar links bent gedraaid, is het wel een beetje steil. Je komt van iets dieper dan wanneer je de kasseiweg neemt. Maar ook deze is niet zo lastig.

De eerste helft zijn kasseien die er hobbelig maar behoorlijk bijliggen.
Het tweede deel is beton dat eveneens steil omhoog gaat maar de kasseien voelen natuurlijk steiler aan.
