After cycling flat over the beginning of the wide Braekepoort (where several roads converge) it goes diagonally right between the newly built houses, climbing steeply again to level off at the end of the dead end street.
Off road you can continue to the steps that lead to the Orleanstoren, also sometimes called the Aurelianus tower, hidden between the trees. One of the few remnants of the old city walls, offering a view of the city.

vertrek van aan de Diestsestraat en de klim begint direct zeer steil de eerste 150 meter als je de Kauterberg opdraait . Daarna even ademruimte op de Braekepoort maar al direct mag je weer hard gaan duwen op de pedalen als je schuin rechts op gaat naar de Orleanstoren . Voor de natuur moet je het zeker niet doen want het is volledig volgebouwd en de Kauterberg is een drukke eenrichtingsstraat met het verkeer in de tegenovergestelde richting.
Het verkeer naar de Orleanstoren is zo goed als nihil . Dit is een beklimming voor wie houdt van steile muren .
