Good alternative if you never want to do the Koppenberg after the Paterberg and still want to cross to Oudenaarde or the Mariaborrestraat/Stationsberg/Taaienberg. Pretty steep parts and the road winds up nicely!... read more

Beautiful surroundings and a few nice steep bends. Furthermore, not too complicated. Because of the cycling history, it is worthwhile to ride over it.

Nice and quiet climb on an almost perfect road surface. The Kortekeer is especially steep in the bends, but right before and after that it is definitely doable. Don't get caught in the bends and everyone brings this one to a good end.

Starts with a warming up piece, but after the first turn it's hard work.
There are 3 nice turns where the gradient is noticeable.

I usually do this mountain first when I ride to the Flemish Ardennes. I find it a rather abrupt start because of the steep first turn.
After that it flattens out a bit but it is too steep to find a good pace and you have to work your way up.
Very nice environment and quiet street. Watch out for descending cyclists from the other direction.

The Kortekeer is certainly not an absolute killer, but the first bend is quite steep and after that it is a case of raking and hoping to get to the top as soon as possible.

Good alternative if you never want to do the Koppenberg after the Paterberg and still want to cross to Oudenaarde or the Mariaborrestraat/Stationsberg/Taaienberg. Pretty steep parts and the road winds up nicely!
