It feels strange that this is also cycling up the Koppenberg since this is actually normally the descent of the Koppenberg. For normal mortals, however, this is much more pleasant cycling than the cobbles. It is not super steep but runs in steps up through the greenery along a narrow road. Nice cycling, then. When you get to the top make sure you follow along on the left and not on the right unless you want to do the Koppenberg downhill (skid marks guaranteed). The only downside to this climb is that you both leave and return on the main road between Oudenaarde and Ronse, which is very unfortunate.
Het voelt raar dat dit ook de Koppenberg opfietsen is gezien dit eigenlijk normaliter de afdaling is van de Koppenberg. Voor normale stervelingen is dit echter veel aangenamer fietsen dan de kasseien. Het is niet super steil maar loopt in trapjes omhoog door het groen langs een smalle weg. Mooi fietsen dus. Als je boven komt zorg dat je links mee volgt en niet rechts tenzij je de Koppenberg bergaf wilt doen (remspoor gegarandeerd). Het enige nadeel aan deze klim is dat je zowel vertrekt als terug uitkomt op de grote baan tussen Oudenaarde en Ronse, dit is heel jammer.

Prachtige beklimming die zoals het profiel mooi weergeeft loopt in trapjes. Het is er rustig, mooi in het groen en vooral... geen kasseien! Boven op de Y splitsing moet je echt wel naar links, want anders daal je af op de vreselijke kasseien.
