In 2017, I cycled up from Idrsko and then descended to Savogna. I underestimated the climb then. Right after the first few turns it went steep up (10%) and I almost stopped. The descent to Savogna and the climb back were beautiful.... read more

Done as a descent and really enjoyed the road surface and views. Normally I don't post reviews of descents, but the rating here on the site is mi really too low. So I'm making an exception to leave a 5-star review.

What a calf biter! The giro has passed here this year so 3/4 of the asphalt is new and top👌🏻. Also a lot of pink decorations along the side of the road referring to the Giro.
From the village, it starts right after the first bend, until Livek there is little peace to be found and the 10%+ fly around your ears. In Livek it finally flattens out a bit, but not for long. As soon as you leave the village, the road rises steeply again. The sign with 2km, 12% says it all ;).

In between, you have nice views, but at the top you are between the trees and unfortunately you don't see much. The descent to Tolmin, on the other hand, is a joy. Nice tarmac (watch out for loose stones), and occasionally a nice viewpoint over the valley.

Highly recommended! But don't start if you can't get up the Keutenberg or the Cauberg.

The descent to Savogna and the climb back were beautiful.

I did this one as a descent. Around Livek the road had been broken up in September 2021, but the rest was already very good tarmac. Many curves, very quiet.
