First part is very steep, fortunately it levels off after 400 metres. Steep part is fortunately in the forest so you are still sheltered by the trees. Once out of the forest, the climb is not so steep anymore
Eerste stuk is heel steil, gelukkig vlakt hij na 400 mtr af. Steile deel ligt gelukkig in de bossen zodat je nog beschutting hebt van de bomen. Eenmaal uit het bos is de beklimming niet zo steil meer
As the Vennbahn tunnel is closed to protect bats, the famous cycle route crosses the mountain here. If you cycle the Vennbahn to avoid the slopes, this is a disappointing stretch, quite steep at the beginning. Outside the forest it is no longer steep and you pass the border with Luxembourg. At the top you are close to Luxembourg's highest point, Kneiff. No particular climb, but so unavoidable if you cycle the Vennbahn. No cars's on the route.
Omdat de tunnel van de Vennbahn afgesloten is om vleermuizen te beschermen, gaat de beroemde fietsroute hier over de berg heen. Als je de Vennbahn fietst om de hellingen te vermijden is dit een teleurstellend stukje, vrij steil in het begin. Buiten het bos is het niet meer steil en passeer je de grens met Luxemburg. Boven ben je dicht bij het hoogste punt van Luxemburg, Kneiff. Geen bijzondere klim, maar dus niet te vermijden als je de Vennbahn fietst. Geen auto's op de route.
