Fijne beklimming om je dag vanuit Mechelen door het Limburgse heuvellandschap te starten, via de juiste afslag kom je in Vijlen het hoogste dorp van NL.
This is an alternative to Hurpesch and ends up in the same place. They are therefore very similar. Not too steep, somewhat irregular, open views, and in my opinion preferable over the main road towards Vijlen.
Dit is een alternatief voor Hurpesch en komt op dezelfde plaats uit. Ze zijn dan ook heel vergelijkbaar. Niet te steil, ietwat onregelmatig, open uitzicht, en mijn inziens te verkiezen over de hoofdweg richting Vijlen.
Beautiful, not too difficult and somewhat winding climb from Mechelen towards Rott. In the kilometre going up there are two steeper sections but it never gets really tough. At the top, you can choose to continue to Rott/Vijlen. It is also possible to descend from there via Akerstraat or Kleeberg to Bommerigerweg.
Mooie, niet te moeilijke en wat slingerende klim vanuit Mechelen richting Rott. In de kilometer dat je omhoog gaat zitten twee steilere stukken maar echt zwaar wordt het nooit. Op de top keuze om door te gaan naar Rott/Vijlen. Ook is het mogelijk om vandaar via Akerstraat of Kleeberg af te dalen naar de Bommerigerweg.

De Kleeberg begint wanneer je afslaat na de Mechelerhof. Het is een rustig weggetje die met mooie bochtjes naar boven slingert. Mooie uitzichten over het dal wanneer je naar rechtst kijkt. Niet echt zwaar als het gaat om klimmen.

Volle bak met de grote plaat naar boven rammen. Je gaat kapot maar het kan wel omdat het niet steil is. Wel smal en als je verkeer tegenkomt, kost dat snelheid. Leuke weg met heel aardige huisjes net na de top. Je komt na de afdaling 'onderin' Vijlen uit, waar je onder meer dat supersteile stukje recht omhoog kunt doen.
Lovely winding and very quiet road with beautiful views into the Geuldal. In terms of climbing not spectacular but enjoying the Limburg landscape. You pass some farms and according to signs there is a chance of cows on the road.
Heerlijk slingerend en zeer rustig weggetje met fraaie uitzichten het Geuldal in. Qua klimmen niet spectaculair maar wel genieten van het Limburgse landschap. Je passeert wat boerderijen en volgens bordjes is er kans op koeien op de weg.
Kleeberg, Hurpesch, Elzeterberg and actually also Bommerigerweg climb to the same point. The surroundings are beautiful and very quiet, so which variant you take doesn't matter that much. I myself have a slight preference for Hurpetsch and Bommerigerweg which connects to it.
Kleeberg, Hurpesch, Elzeterberg en eigenlijk ook Bommerigerweg klimmen tot hetzelfde punt. De omgeving is schitterend en heel rustig, dus welke variant je neemt maakt niet zo heel veel uit. Zelf heb ik een lichte voorkeur voor Hurpetsch en Bommerigerweg die daar op aansluit.
