First a steep start in a residential area, after which you come to a plateau-like level that leads to the sports field. After the sports field, the route goes uphill again and then onto a beautifully winding forest path. The tarmac is not ideal and the path is more of a dead end on a road bike, which is why you will hardly see any cyclists there. With my gravel bike, I was able to gain another 50 metres in altitude on the straight path, which adds an extra spice to the climb.
Zunächst ein steiler Beginn im Wohngebiet, wonach man auf einer plateauähnlichen Ebene kommt, die bis zum Sportplatz geht. Nach dem Sportplatz geht es wieder bergauf und anschließend auf einen schön geschwungenen Waldweg. Der Aspahlt ist nicht optimal, und der Weg ist auf dem Rennrad eher eine Sackgasse, weshalb sie fast keinen Radfahrer dort sehen werden. Mit meinem Schotterrad konnte ich auf dem geradeausleigeneden Weg noch 50 Höhenmeter sammeln, was dem Anstieg eine zusätzliche Würze verleit.
The first section is a cobbled road between the houses of Hahn uphill and although the slope starts out relaxed it very quickly heads towards higher percentages, especially if you leave the houses behind and turn right onto a small tarmac road through pretty countryside. At the end of this, take a left and then a right past the sports fields. Here the tarmac is very bad for a while but then it improves again, with the road following a nice route through beautiful surroundings. At the end, the asphalt does dead-end but and there is a choice of several gravel roads, the one turning left towards Venwegen being the best in terms of quality.
Het eerste deel is een klinkerweg tussen de huizen van Hahn omhoog en hoewel de helling relaxed begint gaat deze al heel snel richting de hogere percentages, vooral als je de huizen achter je laat en rechtsaf een klein asfaltweggetje door een fraaie omgeving in slaat. Op het eind hiervan even links en daarna rechts langs de sportvelden. Hier is het asfalt even erg slecht maar daarna wordt het weer beter, waarbij de weg een mooi traject door een prachtige omgeving volgt. Op het eind loopt het asfalt wel dood maar en is de keuze uit meerdere gravelwegen, waarbij die welke linksaf richting Venwegen gaat het beste is qua kwaliteit.
