Tough climb, rewarded with a nice view at Gasthaus Fleckalm. I did the climb in the early evening (around 6pm), so was practically alone. Blissful! The climb as indicated on climbfinder is perfectly doable with a course bike. If you want to go beyond Gasthous Fleckalm, a gravel bike or MTB is necessary though. - 7/08/2023

More a climb for the gravel bike than the road bike. Especially when you get to the top (and note: climb actually continues to the top at Fleckalmbahn), there are opportunities for gravel routes. Climb itself is really tough and very erratic. First part is good to do, but certainly as the hairpin turns quickly follow the steeper parts. Continue to the Fleckalmbahn is a must, because there you come out on a beautiful plateau. You can then choose to descend to Kitzbuhel via the Hahnenkahm (and not the slope 😉 ). But again, in that case a gravel bike is recommended.
