Bij het induiken van het bos ga je het steilste deel voor de wielen krijgen en is het harken om boven te komen. Durf je het klimdeel in het bos niet aan: dan aan de rand van het bos linksaf Rue Vivier afdalen en vervolgens via de klim van Rue de la Vallée/Rue Charlemagne naar Henri-Chapelle rijden.
Nice climb through the field, but in the forest it gets vicious. Not to be underestimated. I found the road surface not too bad, but perhaps to be avoided in bad weather. Definitely recommended

Sehr schöner Anstieg durch Wiesen und Felder. Nach einem Warm_Up kommt man in den Wald, in dem der Anstieg erst richtig beginnt. Auf einem schlechten Weg muss man für einen halben Kilometer sehr hart in ruhiger Umgebung arbeiten.

Delightful climb with a combination of beautiful scenery and really good downhill work. The climb starts at the fish ponds at Château de Graaf after which the road winds up along a farm. At the T-junction turn right where at the farm there is a very bad piece of road (for the rest it is mostly doable but watch out for descents). Here are beautiful views in all directions. When you enter the forest, the fun about the beautiful surroundings turns into climbing fun because the road after the side road immediately goes up hard. The road to Henri-Chapelle runs over the crest of a ridge and offers wide open views on both sides. A real pleasure.
Heerlijke klim met een combinatie van een mooie omgeving en echt lekker afzien. De klim begint bij de visvijvers bij Château de Graaf waarna de weg langs een boerderij leuk omhoog slingert. Op de T-splitsing rechtsaf waar bij de boerderij even een erg slecht stukje weg ligt (voor de rest is het overwegend goed te doen maar pas op met afdalen). Hier fraaie uitzichten alle kanten op. Als je het bos ingaat gaat de pret over de mooie omgeving over in klimpret want de weg knalt na de zijweg meteen hard omhoog. daarna volgt een iets vlakker (relatief gezien dan) stuk waarna nog een steil eindklimmetje volgt. De weg richting Henri-Chapelle loopt over de kam van een heuvelrug en levert aan beide kanten weer weidse uitzichten op. Echt genieten.
I agree with Go13 that this is the nicest variant of the climb. Shorter but steeper and a more exciting environment. Do. The last kilometer is identical to the Kinkenweg version, which remains terribly tough.
Ik ben het met Go13 eens dat dit de mooiste variant van de beklimming is. Korter maar steiler en een spannendere omgeving. Doen. De laatste kilometer is identiek aan de Kinkenweg-versie, dat blijft vreselijk zwaar.
