If you come to Klimmen by car from Voerendaal or Ubachsberg, you can take this climb from Craubeek. It is a short and steady runner that is fine for the trained cyclist.
Kom je binnendoor vanuit Voerendaal of Ubachsberg naar Klimmen dan kan je deze klim vanuit Craubeek meenemen. Het is een korte en gelijkmatige loper die voor de getrainde fietser prima te doen is.
Nothing special but a good choice if you want to make the crossing to Klimmen and avoid the bigger and busier roads.

Nice and fairly long climb in a mostly green environment and with views to the left and right. The climb ends at the beautiful church of Klimmen. Just before that you have a wide view to the right towards Heerlen. Not spectacular but one of the nicer climbs around Klimmen.
Aardige en redelijk lopende klim in een veelal groene omgeving en met zowel links als rechts uitzicht. De klim eindigt bij de fraaie kerk van Klimmen. Vlak daarvoor heb je nog weids uitzicht naar rechts richting Heerlen. Niet spectaculair maar wel één van de leukere beklimmingen rondom Klimmen.
No special or beautiful surroundings. You can't really carry a lot of speed from Craubeek and for most cyclists living above Schimmert this is the last climb of the hilly country and usually of your bike ride. Partly because of this, the kerkveldweg can be a real disappointment.
Geen speciale of mooie omgeving. Je kunt niet echt veel snelheid meenemen vanuit Craubeek en voor de meeste wielrenners die boven schimmert wonen is dit het laatste klimmetje van het heuvelland en meestal ook van je fietsrit. Mede hierdoor kan de kerkveldweg nog vies tegenvallen.
