Een weg die je mooi omhoog ziet lopen in een fraaie omgeving. De gevoelsmatige top ligt bij de boerderij, daarna volgt nog een stuk uitfietsen tot de haakse bocht maar daar zit nog maar weinig fut in. Mooi uitzicht naar achteren.
This is one of the most beautiful areas in the Rijk van Nijmegen. A must-do as far as I am concerned. The climb itself is not very much.
Toch wel één van de mooiste stukjes in het Rijk van Nijmegen. Een must-do wat mij betreft. De klim zelf stelt niet heel veel voor.
Because there is no shelter and you cycle to the south west, you often have a strong head wind on this bare rock. Then the climb of one and a half km is still quite long. The view, however, is magnificent. If you have an eye for it, on the right side in the distance you pass a metal skeleton of a glider from the time of operation Market Garden. Just after the top in the descent you also pass a monument commemorating those events. Extra star for the combination of historical load and view.
Omdat er geen enkele beschutting is en je naar het zuidwesten fietst, heb je dikwijls dikke wind tegen op deze kale puist. Dan is anderhalve kilometer klimmen nog best lang. Het uitzicht is daarentegen prachtig. Als je er oog voor hebt, aan de rechterzijde passeer je in de verte een metalen geraamte van een zweefvliegtuig ten tijde van operatie Market Garden. Vlak na de top in de afdaling passeer je ook nog een monument ter nagedachtenis aan die gebeurtenissen. Extra ster voor de combinatie van historische lading en uitzicht.
Very nice landscape, the climb is even better if you take the first piece from the knapheideweg.
Erg mooi landschap, mooier is de klim nog als je het eerste stuk vanaf de knapheideweg pakt.
