This climb combines two characteristically different sections of road. "Zur Hünenpforte" is a well-maintained country road with a wide shoulder and a moderate, easily controllable climb. At the roundabout you change to the Kattenohler Straße, a less frequented but well-maintained mountain road, the asphalt was renewed a few years ago. After a short but winding flat section, you enter the second ascent through a wooded area. Once you leave this, you can see the summit and the remaining 500 metres, which demand everything from you once again. At the top, you are rewarded with a view of Hagen and, in good weather, the Ruhr University in Bochum.
Dieser Anstieg kombiniert zwei charakteristisch unterschiedliche Strckenabschnitte. "Zur Hünenpforte" ist eine gut ausgebaute Landstraße mit einem breiten Seitenstreifen und einem moderaten, gut kontrollierbaren Anstieg. Beim Kreisverkehr wechselt man auf die Kattenohler Straße, eine seltener befahrene aber gut ausgebaute Höhenstraße, der Asphalt wurde vor wenigen Jahren erneut. Nach einem kurzen aber kurvenreichen Flachstück geht es in den zweiten Anstieg durch ein Waldstück. Verlässt man dieses, blickt man auf den Gipfel und die verbleibenden 500 Meter, die nochmal alles von einem abverlangen. Oben wird man mit einem Ausblick nach Hagen belohnt, bei guter Sicht kann man auch die Ruhr-Universität in Bochum erblicken.
