Not gravel but a coarse concrete surface. Paved, though, so it is quite bumpy. Well, there's not much else to tell about it. It is surrounded by greenery, though. After the summit, you are soon back on an asphalt road.
Geen gravel maar een grove betonondergrond. Wel verhard dus al is het behoorlijk hobbelig. Tja verder valt er weinig over te vertellen. Ligt wel in het groen. Na de top ben je snel weer op een asfaltweg.
This one is in the category "something different", especially if you know most of the climbs in this region. You have a different view than you are used to on for example the much used Knapheideweg. With your racing bike with thin tires you can cycle up this road slowly. This is mainly due to the road surface; it is not really gravel, but a kind of heavily weathered asphalt concrete with a very small amount of gravel.
Deze valt in de categorie "weer eens wat anders", zeker als je de meeste beklimmingen in deze regio al kent. Je hebt een ander uitzicht dan je gewend bent op bijvoorbeeld de veel bereden Knapheideweg. Met je racefiets met dunne banden rij je deze traag op. Dat heeft vooral te maken met het wegdek; het is niet echt gravel, maar een soort flink verweerd asfaltbeton met een heel klein beetje gruis.
