Probably one of the ugliest climbs in terms of road surface in the area. Descending on cobblestones before the start really doesn't help. Because of the concrete slabs, it doesn't run anywhere either. When you get to the viewpoint and café you're at the top, but afterwards you descend for a while and have to push back a final stretch.... read more

Indeed a very bad road surface that runs for no meter - but I think the view from that last steep stretch as you turn the last corner is spectacular - for that reason still 3 stars!

It's true what the others say. The road surface is really the game changer here. in terms of scenery, the climb is interesting enough, but by first being shaken up on the cobblestones downhill and then yourself in the uphill thinking more about your behind than the scenery, this is completely lost. There are certainly nicer options to get to the same place, the foreest or the Ganzenberg e.g.

Not my thing at all. A slope for which you first have to descend a few hundred meters of cobblestones, to then start a climb on concrete plates with here and there a speed bump which takes you away from your pace. The parallel hills steenbeekberg and foreest are much more interesting!
