Sinds het wegdek vernieuwd is, 2 jaar geleden zijn de kasseien makkelijk te vermijden. Maar wie kassei-honger heeft, kan nog steeds over het midden dokkeren.

Kasseihelling waar ik als student menig maal naar boven ben geklauterd op een fiets met platte banden. Sowieso moet je even bekomen boven, maar eenmaal boven kom je wel langs de bekende Yucca op het Sint-Pietersplein.
Opgelet, bergaf kan dit een gevaarlijke afdaling zijn met op het einde de brug over de Leie en het kruispunt met de Sunset. Voornamelijk als je reeds wat bier achter de kiezen hebt.

From the bend on it's only cobblestones for a while and then you turn into Sint-Pietersplein. The cobblestones are very good and there is little traffic!
De enige echte kasseihelling in Gent. Vanaf het brugje tot de bocht naar rechts kan je hier kiezen tussen een geasfalteerde strook naast de kasseien of de echte Flandrienervaring (in het klein dan) op de kasseien zelf. Vanaf de bocht even enkel kasseien en dan het Sint-Pietersplein opdraaien. De kasseien liggen er zeer goed bij en weinig verkeer!
