Done, like most people as a double header with the Albula Pass. Climbed up early in the morning and broke through the clouds to a very alpine moon scape. It is not a hard climb or beautiful climb but one to tick off the box
Done after the Albula, it fell short of expectations in terms of views. More traffic and less impressive with a less alpine context. The start coming from Sankt Moritz is not easy to find as there is a tunnel forbidden to bikes. There are no directions to find the right road as already mentioned in another review, as well as distance and remaining slope. You have to continue towards the centre of Silvaplana and from there climb up a pave'. The descent to Tiefenkastel is beautiful.
Fatto dopo l Albula si è rivelato sotto le aspettative in termini panoramici. Più trafficato e meno suggestivo con un contesto meno alpino. La partenza arrivando da Sankt Moritz non è facile da trovare in quanto c'è una galleria vietata alle bici. Non ci sono indicazioni per trovare la giusta strada come già segnalato in altra recensione, cosi come distanza e pendenza rimanente. Bisogna proseguire verso il centro di Silvaplana e da lì salire su un pave'. Bella la discesa verso Tiefenkastel.
Climbed the Julierpass as part of the famous Albula/Julier tour. Except for the first few kilometres, the percentages are easy to do. I can confirm the comments below, the Albula is more beautiful and less crowded. On the Julierpass you have to deal with a lot more traffic. Nevertheless, certainly worthwhile because of some beautiful panoramas during the climb.
De Julierpass beklommen als onderdeel van het bekende Albula /Julier rondje. Behalve de beginkilometers zijn de percentages goed te doen. Onderstaande commentaren kan ik bevestigen, de Albula is mooier en bovendien minder druk. Op de Julierpass krijg je te maken met een pak meer verkeer. Desondanks zeker de moeite door enkele prachtige panorama's tijdens de klim.
Fairly busy with motorcyclists, but otherwise nice climb. At the end few views, but that makes up for the descent!
Redelijk druk met motorrijders, maar veder mooie klim. Op het einde weinig verzichten, maar dat maakt de afdaling goed!

Indeed it is not so difficult. I did have a lot of trouble with the traffic, abula pass is clearly more beautiful and less crowded.
Inderdaad is niet zo moeilijk. Ik heb wel veel last gehad van de verkeer, abulapas is duidelijk mooier en minder druk.
The Julier (east) is not so tough, but nice to combine after the Maloja and then the Splügen!
De Julier (oost) is zo zwaar niet, maar mooi te combineren na de Maloja en dan de Splügen!
