The climb as such is nice, steep start and then moderate climb through the fields (wind can play a role). But the road surface is a disaster, especially in the long stretch through the fields once you've done the first steep part. You really bump from hole to hole, and when it's wet, I think it will even be worse to ride here. For that reason, best to avoid it and take one of the alternative climbs to get from the valley to Izier.

In terms of percentages, views and length it is a nice climb. But I try to avoid it in the future, because of the road surface. Pavé à l'Ardenne. Do you know the cobblestones of the Wall of Geraardsbergen? They are better than some sections of this climb. Maybe I exaggerate a bit, but the road looks like hell. And as a descent it is totally avoidable.

Quite a nice climb - a bit of zig-zagging to avoid the pits, but certainly doable (descended it today, and even that was mostly ok).
