Eén van de twee mogelijkheden voor de beklimming van de Kleekampsweg naar Parc Imstentrade. Voor deze variant ga je vanaf de John F. Kennedylaan het buitengebied aan de zuidkant van Heerlen in. Tot aan de splitsing waar de kvariant vanuit Benzenrade erbij komt is er v.w.b. stijgingspercentage nog niet zoveel aan de hand. Hierna mag je even aan de bak voor de zwaarste 200 meter van deze klim waar je een stuk in de dubbele cijfers stijgt. Hierna is het ineens vals plat tot aan de top.
This was the 1st climb in Limburgs Mooiste 2024 that I had to conquer. A bike path through a dark forest,due to the gloomy weather, which was doable. As this climb loomed after only 4 km and I was still quite fresh, the tough bit wasn't too bad. If you tackle it with a bit more km in the legs, I suspect it will require more effort. There was a lot of rubbish on the road due to the heavy rain, which made you pay more attention to the road surface to avoid all the stones and twigs than to the surroundings. It was a nice climb though, just outside Heerlen.
Dit was de 1e klim in Limburgs Mooiste 2024 die ik moest bedwingen. Een fietspad door een donker bos,vanwege het sombere weer,die goed te doen was. Omdat deze klim al na 4 km opdoemde en ik nog vrij fris was, viel het pittige stukje heel erg mee. Als je hem aandoet met iets meer km in de benen,dan vermoed ik dat ie meer inspanning vergt. Er lag veel rotzooi op de weg door de vele regen en dat zorgde er voor dat je meer oog had voor het wegdek om alle steentjes en takjes te ontwijken dan voor de omgeving. Het was wel een mooie klim zo net buiten Heerlen.
Very pleasant route. It starts quiet on a nice narrow road along some houses. After the side road you enter the forest and the road goes straight up. The road follows a nice winding course through a beautiful and quite dark forest. After the steep part there is a small descent and then a final climb, which leads to the crossing with the Zandweg where there is a nice view.
Zeer aangename route. Deze begint rustig over een mooi smal weggetje langs enkele huizen. Na de zijweg ga je het bos in en knalt de weg meteen flink omhoog. De weg volgt een mooi bochtig parcours door een fraai en best donker bos. Na het steile stuk nog een kleine afdaling en dan nog een eindklimmetje, dat loopt tot aan de kruising met de Zandweg waar nog een leuk uitzicht is.

mooi weggetje als je van Ubachsberg afdaalt naar Benzenrade en dan naar rechts het steile stuk meteen voor je kiezen krijgt. En het ruikt er lekker naar bos.
In itself this is a pretty nice climb: a very quiet road with good surface through a real, old slope forest, which provides some 200 to 300 meters of decent climbing. If you start via Benzenrade you also don't notice anything of the city environment. However, it has the misfortune that the surroundings where it connects to are just not that nice.
Op zichzelf is dit een vrij mooi klimmetje: Een zeer rustige weg met een goed wegdek door een echt, oud hellingbos, dat zo'n 200 a 300 meter fatsoenlijk klimwerk oplevert. Als je via Benzenrade begint merk je ook totaal niets van de stadsomgeving. Het heeft echter de pech dat de omgeving waar het op aansluit gewoonweg niet zo fraai is.
