Although it is a calm hamlet at a junction of roads, between the few houses here you immediately start out quite steep. So steep that even with my gravel gear I had trouble with it. The road soon turns into a typical English hollow road: man-sized hedges or stone walls left and right, and very narrow. As soon as you see some more light and have more views, it flattens out and you end up on the moor. Then you can continue a little further before the tarmac ends. Very quiet, but otherwise not very special.
