I go up this one a lot, living in Tring. It' hard to avoid when heading west, without doing a lengthy detour, or cutting through the town centre, which can be slow. So it's a climb I need to get up very frequently, and I know it well. It isn't particularly challenging, but the lower section will make you work a bit. So it's a climb I need to get up very frequently, and I know it well. It isn't particularly challenging, but the lower section will make you work a bit. There are a couple of gateways where you can glimpse a view towards the reservoirs, but it isn't a scenic climb. It's a climb on the way to some bigger climbs, usually, and I'm always happy to get the first one ticked off. Traffic an be noticeable at busy times, as you might expect.
