Absolutely one of the most beautiful cycling routes in these already beautiful surroundings. Moreover, this slope and the 1km long prehistoric cobblestone strip, which would not even be out of place in some spring cycling monument, carries with it quite a bit of cycling history. For example, this strip was more than decisive in the Bk for pro's won by Freddy Maertens in 1976. The climb itself is certainly not hard, but winds gently uphill like a snake between some farms, passes a pond and then the longest straight towards the cobblestones. This cobbled section is by far the toughest in that segment in this cobbled region, but it lives up to its reputation. The cobblestones definitely feel very bumpy but not immediately sloping. For those who still want to avoid them, the Fabrieksstraat offers two fine ways out via a very short steep hop left or a slightly longer spur right.
