Technically not very difficult (some parts a bit harder) and scenically beautiful climb. The part through the built-up area passes many old buildings so it is also nice to do. At the top you ride over a ridge with on both sides some views (on the right the industrial area Chemelot near Geleen, on the left a nice little valley. Also looking back you have a nice view. Klimtechnisch niet echt zware (sommige stukjes zijn wat steviger) en landschappelijk mooie klim. Het deel door de bebouwde kom komt langs veel oude panden dus is ook leuk om te doen. Bovenin rijd je over een heuvelrug met aan beide kanten wat uitzicht (rechts op het industrieterrein Chemelot bij Geleen, links op een leuk dalletje. Ook achterom kijkend heb je aardig uitzicht. Zeker mooier dan via Hoogveld.

Once at the top, you have a wide view of the western mining area on the right side and on the left side there are many blossom trees. Leuk klimmetje en een prettig stukje om te fietsen. Zeker aan te raden, als je van rustige en smalle paadjes door de natuur houdt. Eenmaal boven heb je aan de rechterkant een weids uitzicht over de westelijke mijnstreek en aan de aan de linkerkant staan heel veel bloesembomen. In de lente ziet dat er echt prachtig uit als al die bomen in de bloei staan.
