Nice climb via a very narrow path, but with puffy tarmac. However, this stops when you leave the forest and turns into a gravel path over the Kollenberg. I'm 28mm Roubaix tyres fitted so dared to do it, but actually the continuation dtill the St Rosakapel is not really suitable for cycling, especially with narrower tyre sizes. So nice climb, but basically you have to turn around at the top if you don't want to risk a puncture.... read more

To confirm: this is an asphalt road (for the entire length of the climb, after the climb the road becomes a nice and relatively flat gravel road leading to the top of the Kollenberg) but to verify this some mud had to be removed. So in the autumn/winter season the combination of lots of leaves and a hollow road can lead to a particularly muddy road.
Having said that: it is a nice climb through a winding hollow road (forbidden for motorized traffic - except for tractors) to the top. Beautiful scenery both up and down. And you can easily guess how dirty the road is or will be.
