I drove to Heist-op-den-Berg especially for it. Palmbosstraat is a quiet residential area, not too wide so you have to be a bit careful when a rare car approaches you. Only at the end is it a bit of a push. You go over cobblestones even then, even before the right turn, towards the church, you've had the steepest. Beautiful square, worth the climb and the trip.

Nice and traffic free approach of the Heistse "berg". Through the residential area you go over the macadam and some refuge hills, until you reach the cobblestones (common with the approach via Grotstraat). Drive straight on at the top of the church square to get some extra cobblestones, there are hardly any around Heist-op-den-Berg, so extra fun with a cobblestone is a bonus.

Tip: avoid this climb around the end of school hours, unless you like to navigate between school children.

The Heistse berg is a typical Flemish cobblestone climb. It is not very long, nor very steep. But it sure does bounce and wobble! It starts in the middle of a residential quarter and ends at a beautiful church in the center of the village. Because there are not many other climbs in the immediate vicinity, this one is worth the effort.
