Two-stage rocket known from the 2019 UCI road cycling world championships at Harrogate.

Normally I would recommend bringing as much speed as possible from Penny Pot Lane to the foot of this climb, but that is not wise. This is because there are traffic lights at the foot of Harlow Moor Road just before the idyllic little bridge over the Oak Beck, also the starting point of this climb.

Assuming the lights were conveniently on green, you turn left across the little bridge at breakneck speed and immediately find yourself on a stretch of around 6% average. After a few dozen metres (at the level of the faint right-hand bend) it flattens slightly. On this easier stretch you will come across a kind of mini-roundabout, always be careful here!

Afterwards, the road becomes narrower again, especially if you want to stay on the big plate. Normally this should certainly be possible, but Yorkshire can sometimes be ugly (bearing in mind MvdP's slump)!
