Steep right from the start and it actually stays that way. A really steep climb, but as long as you tell yourself it's OK as long as you keep turning, you'll eventually get to the top. There is also a bench there where you can take a rest with a nice view.... read more

A hidden gem you must have done if you're in the Sauerland. It really is a dud, a terrible gut-biter, yet I'm surprised how few people - judging by my strava - have done it. It is a really nice climb, there is fine tarmac and you are treated to nice views. From the village the climb is steep right away, then it flattens out for a short while and then it is terribly steep for over a kilometre: on average about'15%with a stretch of 20%. The 'real' climb is 2.5 km. After that it is quite moderate and the pressure can be off the legs.
