Not long at all, but very steep! The road, which is in good condition and not very busy, helps you to get through without too much trouble.

I wouldn't call my attempt splitting. Make no mistake: the TV images make this slope look much less steep than it really is. The asphalt is of excellent quality, which helps enormously. Furthermore, you are well sheltered from wind or other weather elements by the trees, so only the legs need to speak as you ride up the Hagaard.

Splijtend zou ik mijn poging niet noemen. Vergis je niet: de tv-beelden doen deze helling véél minder steil lijken dan deze in werkelijkheid is. Het asfalt is van uitstekende kwaliteit, en dat helpt enorm. Verder ben je door de bomen goed beschut van wind of andere weerselementen, zodat enkel de benen hoeven te spreken als je de Hagaard oprijdt.
Indeed, this climb is part of the final circuit of the Flèche brabançonne, and it is quite difficult, especially if you ride it hard. Nevertheless, it seems to me much less difficult than the Speelberg via the Moerenhoutsstraat, which runs parallel to it, especially since it has become paved.

Such a short little baby, what could be so hard about that? Well, it is disappointing. It is very steep. The typical example of what a calf biter is. Nice narrow road by the way. Tip for those who descend to Overijse: watch how you drive, because some streets have cobblestones. And a narrow road that goes down quite steeply on cobblestones is never a pleasure, especially when they are wet.
Zo'n kort prutske, wat kan daar nu lastig aan zijn? Wel, hij valt tegen. Hij is enorm steil. Hét typevoorbeeld van wat een kuitenbijter is. Leuke smalle weg trouwens. Tip voor zij die naar Overijse afdalen: let op hoe je rijdt, want er liggen op sommige straten kasseien. En een smalle weg die tamelijk steil naar beneden gaat op kasseien is nooit een pretje, zeker niet als ze nat liggen.
